Who we are
Ansari Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (ARAA) is a national non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 1992. Since its inception, ARAA has been dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance based on the principles of human rights, Islamic and cultural values, and socio-environmental sustainability.
Our Services
Child Protection
ARAA focuses on strengthening protective systems that ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at risk. Our teams work closely with communities to identify children facing violence, exploitation, neglect, or other protection concerns.
General Protection
ARAA’s general protection work is grounded in ensuring that individuals and families facing heightened vulnerabilities can access their rights, essential services, and timely support. Our teams conduct regular protection monitoring
Legal Assistance & Aid
We provide legal guidance to help individuals overcome documentation challenges, navigate civil cases, and address protection-related legal barriers.
Psychosocial Support
Our trained staff offer survivor-centered psychosocial care for those affected by distress, violence, or displacement, ensuring emotional well-being and recovery.

ARAA is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by an experienced Executive Director and senior management team. The organization has more than 35 core staff and deploys project-based teams as needed.
Financial Transparency
ARAA applies a computerized double-entry accounting system and maintains strict financial controls. The organization has successfully passed multiple national and international audits and holds audit certificates.
Resources and Offices
ARAA operates from its headquarters in Herat and maintains sub-offices in the provinces mentioned above, with additional field offices as required. Resources include transport facilities, warehouses, equipment, and trained staff enabling rapid..
