Under the income generation or small business activities, the following QIPS projects were implemented:

  • Construction of 41 culverts in 8 villages of Zandajan district (Herat province).

  • Rehabilitation of 4 km road in Sabisti and Aowkheri villages of Shahrak district (Ghor province).

  • Rehabilitation of 5 km road in Khajasaran village, Shahrak district (Ghor province).

  • Rehabilitation of 3 km road in Kariz Eshag village, Shahrak district (Ghor province).

  • Rehabilitation of 5 km road in Kariz Eshag Sufla village, Shahrak district (Ghor province).

  • Cleaning and rehabilitation of one spring and one stream in Akhtam village, Dolaina district (Ghor

  • Cleaning and rehabilitation of one spring and 7 streams in Berenji village, Dolaina district (Ghor)

  • Cleaning and rehabilitation of one spring and 4 streams in Shahidan village, Dolaina district (Ghor)

  • Cleaning and rehabilitation of one spring and one stream in Shahidan Sufla village, Dolaina district

  • Rehabilitation and plumbing of one spring and construction of reservoir in Lashkara village of Chaghcharan center, Ghor province.

  • Construction of 9 culverts in Qashlaq Kalan of Dare Boom district (Badghis province)

  • Construction of 10 wells in various location of Zangon Herat province

  • Construction of 5 Culverts in Zangon Herat province

  • Implementation of 83 Shelter in Zangon cluster Herat province

  • Implementation of 203 standard type C shelters in Kahdestan & Zangon village

 Livestock /Animal Husbandry &Agriculture projects

  • Income generation through livestock/goat and agriculture activities were another part of UNHCR livelihood support and humanitarian assistance benefited IDPs, returnees and communities’ through increased opportunities for durable /gainful employment such projects ensured basic investment for IDP’s life.

  • IDPs of different ethnic who met project specific criteria were identified and selected through BSC comprising of representative of DAIL,DORRs,DoE , Provincial Shura as well as male and females staff of ARAA

  • IGA programs helped IDPs & local communities in two ways. It provided job opportunities for a long term, on the hand an asset was created for such eligible IDPs enhancing their future economy and stability and their reintegration.
