ARAA has been successfully in business since 1992, serving the people of Afghanistan through its operation in sectors of prequalification of procurement, partnership of project implementation in the sectors of protection, emergency, reintegration, education, agriculture, rehabilitation of irrigation, construction, water and sanitation, infrastructures and social activities in western region of Afghanistan.
During these years, ARAA has accumulated considerable institutional experience and capabilities to enable it deliver expertise and services to community, with efficiency, sustainability, and quality assurance.
ARAA NGO is Non-Governmental, nonpolitical and impartial aid organization with Legal independent, identity established in 1992 and registered via ministry of economy.
ARAA organization by financial support and assistance from UN, government or international Aid organizations, will achieve its activities without any racial, national, direction and language bigotries all around the country where the work opportunity is provided.
ARAA has been established to provide humanitarian supports, based on the principles of human
rights, Islamic and cultural values of our country, and environmental and socio economic sustainability to the vulnerable people of Afghanistan, focused on the vulnerable population of
West/northwestern regions.
The organization seeks the opportunities to develop programs and projects to contribute in community’s relief, rehabilitation and development of the country.
ARAA believes that without women’s active participation as the main vulnerable group of people in this country, development and humanitarian relief goals cannot be achieved.

VISION
ARAA envisages vanguard trails of extensive efforts on rehabilitation of fundamental structures of
Afghanistan & intend to provide access in mechanized agriculture, literate society and public
relief particularly for refugees, returnees and Afghan IDPs.
MISSION
ARAA via attracting national, international and governmental supports intends to contribute in mechanizing agriculture system through:
Contribute in public relief via social services, implementation of development, vocational and advocacy projects.
Improving technical knowledge of farmers.
Introducing new agricultural methods such as drop irrigational system.
Contribute in decreasing illiteracy rate by implementation of school projects and education programs.

Administrative structure/organizational chart
ARAA is an Afghan national NGO, committed to the principles of being a politically neutral non-profit organization. The administrative structure of ARAA is based around a Trustee Board (TB) consisted of 5 members, including a Chairman.
The Steering Committee is the main decision making body of the organization, and is not part of the staff members of the ARAA. SC members are volunteers (except ED), overseeing all ARAA activities to make sure they are in compliance with the organization’s bylaw, vision and mission statement.
Below the SC in hierarchy is the Executive Director of the organization, who is also a member of the SC, reporting to the Steering Committee. Under the authority of the Executive Director, two important units are operating:
The Admin/Finance Section which manages all internal and external administrative and financial affairs of the organization. This section controls the following units
- Finance/Accounting
- Logistics /Procurement
- Transport
- Security
The Program Section manages all organization projects and related activities besides program development. This section is divided into the following units:
- Agriculture
- Education
- Reintegration
- Social Affairs (women affairs, vocational training, income generation, assessments/surveys , emergency response)
Construction ARAA has developed necessary policies for smooth operation of the organization, such as HR policy and code of conduct, financial policy, internal governance policy, procurement policy, etc. ARAA has successfully complied with all these policies in its operations.
ARAA HQ is located in the city of Herat, and we currently have three sub-office and site offices in
western region of Afghanistan. Also some project offices are located in the districts Kuhsan, Enjil and
Zendajan of Herat province, respectively (functional in case of project fund). A sub-office of ARAA is
also located in Chaghcharan city of Ghor and another one is in center of Qala-i-now in Badghis
Province in west-central Afghanistan.
ARAA has working background in entire districts of Herat,Badghis,Ghor and few locations in Farah
Province.
